Savannah Quarters, a graceful community where beauty, relaxation, and exceptional service define the living experience, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. This premier lifestyle and golf club community in Pooler, Georgia, continues to delight residents with outstanding amenities, superb golf and a vibrant club experience.

It’s the friendly and welcoming atmosphere, though, that best characterizes Savannah Quarters, as Jim and Amelia McQueeney can attest.

“Amelia and I have been members of Savannah Quarters since 2003. Our home was the fourth to be built in the community,” said Jim McQueeney. “We have felt ‘at home’ in Savannah Quarters since the very beginning. This community is so vibrant and so full of wonderful friends that we cannot see ourselves ever living anywhere else.”

Just 12 miles from historic Savannah and eight miles from the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport, the community is an alluring sanctuary offering a modern, active recreational lifestyle, combined with tradi- tional Southern-style living. Beautiful homes, built by some of the area’s best builders create a wide variety of new-home neighbor- hoods, and lush, well-groomed landscaping provide the perfect Lowcountry setting.

Located in the center of Savannah’s growth corridor, Savannah Quarters offers residents plentiful water recreation and outdoor activities, enhanced by year-round mild temperatures. The Club at Savannah Quarters features an 18-hole Greg Norman Signature golf course. Two interconnected pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and lit Har-Tru tennis courts provide multiple options for an active lifestyle. Award- winning fine dining (Chef Jay has been named among the “Best of the Best Chefs in Savannah”) and excellent, consistently gracious Southern service enhance the Savanah Quarters living experience.

“As wonderful as our neighbors, golf friends, and even acquaintances are,” McQueeney said, “we would be remiss if we did not give accolades to those who keep Savannah Quarters running on a daily basis. The staff here is beyond remarkable and we love them as family.”

For many residents, including the McQueeneys, golf is a major draw.

“Savannah Quarters has stood the test of time, as it was one of my first courses in the Lowcountry,” Norman said. “Built 15 years ago, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to go back in the last couple of years to enhance the course, and I can proudly say not much was required other than a basic facelift of bunkers to help in overall maintenance cost and create more long-term sustainability. To this day, we still consistently get tremendous feedback from both the members and club, which is always our ultimate goal.”

The club is celebrating its 20th anniver- sary with fun events planned for members through the end of the year.

The Club at Savannah Quarters’ par-72 masterpiece features majestic woods, protected wetlands, and tree-lined fairways.

For the many golf lovers at Savannah Quarters, the private golf course offers a rewarding playing experience, with six sets of tees to accommodate the skill level of any player. Fairways and greens are Bermuda. Playable year round, the picturesque course weaves through lagoons, natural areas, and groves of towering cypress and live oak trees — truly an escape into the peaceful Lowcountry setting. In addition to golf, instruction is available from Director of Instruction Cody Carter, who has won numerous awards from the South Carolina and Georgia PGA sections, and been recognized multiple times being among the “Best Young Teachers in America” by Golf Digest.

While golf is a feature attraction, at the heart of Savannah Quarters is the beautiful 29,000-square-foot clubhouse. It is the site of many social activities, where friendliness and neighborliness are center stage. Well- appointed gathering spaces, enjoyable activities, and superb dining options create the epitome of true Southern hospitality.

“The social life at Savannah Quarters has something for everybody,” McQueeney said. “Our main focus is golf; however, the pool includes many activities for families, and the tennis facilities are top-notch. The fitness center and classes they offer are well-rounded to include all ages. The clubhouse has some of the finest meals that can be found, and the grill can fill everyone’s needs. Needless to say, we are huge fans of Savannah Quarters and look forward to every day we are here.”

It’s not only the residents and members who sing the community’s praises. Savannah Quarters has been recognized by many organizations and media outlets. It recently was named Community of the Year by the Homebuilders Association of Georgia and Best New Home Community by Connect Savannah magazine; and it was chosen as one of America’s Top 100 best places to live by Ideal-LIVING Magazine.

In all, it’s fair to say the first two decades have been a great success … here’s to the next 20 years!
