5 Things Americans Want in Their Homes

We all want our dream home to be comfortable to live in. The Demand Institute, a non-profit organization run by the Conference Board and Nielsen, surveyed ten thousand households about their current homes and then their ideal ones. Our Homestead community features architectural designs that blend traditional styles with cleaner, more modern details to fit the needs and wants of buyers. Here are a few American housing desires the report found which perfectly align with all of our builders here at Homestead.

Energy Efficiency

The increase in the cost of energy has become increasingly burdensome on households. Seventy-one percent of respondents said they thought a home’s energy efficiency was important. Energy-efficient appliances, high-efficiency insulation, and high window efficiency are a few “green” features that Americans value the most. Luckily, Homestead’s builders offer energy efficient homes and earmark the standards for which we are best known!

More Space

Americans need a sufficient amount of space for the many things they want in their dream homes. Fifty-five percent of survey respondents said they think a home with a lot of storage space is important. Homestead strives to exceed homeowners expectations with quality homes ranging anywhere between 1,500-3,500 sq. ft. to give our homeowners a spacious living environment.

Without requiring sacrifices, eighty-one percent of those surveyed said that it is important that a home’s cost fits in their budget. We want our buyers to enjoy the most out of what they purchase. Our Scott Felder, Pulte, and CastleRock homes are priced anywhere between the mid $200’s to the low $300’s, each of which includes innovative designs, custom features, desirable locations, and high-quality construction.

Updated Kitchens and Finishes

In recent years, people began cooking and eating more often in their homes than they did five years ago. Sixty-two percent of participants said an updated kitchen with modern appliances and fixtures is important. Our homebuilders work toward providing our buyers with innovative designs, custom features, and creative use of space for those who are looking for flair, fashion, and energy efficiency in their kitchen.

High-Quality Warranties

Forty-seven percent of participants said responsiveness to maintenance requests and repairs is important. Fortunately, our CastleRock homes offer an industry leading warranty that encompasses 2 year and 10 year coverage for many vital components of your new home!
