Carnes Crossroads has been ranked among the top 50 best-selling master-planned communities in the United States, according to new reports from two national housing research firms.
John Burns Research and Consulting ranked the community No. 38, while RCLCO ranked it No. 42. Both organizations evaluate master-planned communities nationwide based on design, amenities, quality-of-life features, affordability and buyer activity.
Carnes Crossroads was also named a Gold finalist in The Nationals, an awards program hosted by the National Association of Home Builders. The community was recognized in five categories: Best Special Promotion, Best Lifestyle Program for a Community, Best Sales Experience, Best Community Amenity and Master Planned Community of the Year.
“These national honors reflect our team’s dedication, creativity and collaboration to produce communities where residents enjoy life,” Andrea Salafia, Freehold Marketing-East vice president, said in a news release.
The recognition follows a year of growth for Carnes Crossroads, including the opening of its Agrihood and related amenities. The development features a working farm staffed by three farmers, a farm store with fresh produce and local goods, a resort-style pool, a wellness center, a sports court and a children’s garden. Developers said it is the largest Agrihood community in South Carolina.
Developed by Freehold Communities, Carnes Crossroads is among a small number of Agrihoods nationwide. The company oversees more than 31,000 residential units in mixed-use and master-planned developments across the country.
